Valtencir e Ana Paula
Estivemos presentes ontem, sábado 12 de Abril, em Itú, na festa de casamento do Valtencir com a Ana Paula. Reiteramos os nossos parabéns ao feliz casal e suas famílias e desejamos-lhes as maiores venturas e felicidades do mundo. Nós, que já temos quase 43 anos de maravilhosa convivência matrimonial, somos o testemunho vivo de que o amor não está fora de moda, o casamento não tem que ser uma prisão, e a constituição de família continua a ser a célula basilar e fundamental da sociedade humana. E mais: o romantismo faz bem à saúde!

No tempo em que os animais falavam...
Quando passei no exame da 3ª classe, a prenda que a minha avó materna me deu foi o cartão de sócio do Benfica. Ela era uma "doente" pelo clube e achou ser essa a melhor prenda do mundo, "porque o Benfica é o melhor do mundo" — dizia.E a bem da tradição familiar, permaneci sócio até me retirar para o Brasil. Nunca fui de clubismos e os jogos que de alguma maneira me agradam são os internacionais, Mas enfim, lembro-me dos tempos em que o velho estádio da Luz ainda nem existia, mas o terreno já tinha sido comprado e lá se fizeram diversos piqueniques no olival, com a presença de jogadores do clube, onde se angariavam fundos para a construção do estádio. Águas, Rogério, Moreira, etc, eram nossos companheiros porque nesse tempo o Benfica era uma família e os jogadores eram pessoas normais que confraternizavam com a massa associativa e não profissionais.
Muito mais tarde, na época em que eu andava nas cantorias, tive como amigos o Simões, o Torres e o Eusébio.
O Simões entrou para o C.O.M. comigo mas no final foi "resgatado" enquanto a maioria dos demais faziam as malas para seguir rumo às Áfricas. O Benfica pagou uma boa maquia a um alferes já regressado da guerra para que este embarcasse no lugar do Simões, que assim passou à disponibilidade ileso.
O Torres fez parte do meu grupo na praia da Nazaré durante as férias grandes de 2 ou 3 anos consecutivos.
O Eusébio era simplemente mulherengo e frequentou os mesmos ambientes nocturnos que eu, e assim nos tornámos amigos.

The Principle of Mentalism
"THE ALL IS MIND; The Universe is Mental."–The Kybalion.
This Principle embodies the truth that "All is Mind." It explains that THE ALL (which is the Substantial Reality underlying all the outward manifestations and appearances which we know under the terms of "The Material Universe"; the "Phenomena of Life"; "Matter"; "Energy"; and, in short, all that is apparent to our material senses) is SPIRIT which in itself is UNKNOWABLE and UNDEFINABLE, but which may be considered and thought of as AN UNIVERSAL, INFINITE, LIVING MIND. This Principle, by establishing the Mental Nature of the Universe, easily explains all of the varied mental and psychic phenomena that occupy such a large portion of the public attention, and which, without such explanation, are non-understandable and defy scientific treatment. An understanding of this great Hermetic Principle of Mentalism enables the individual to readily grasp the laws of the Mental Universe, and to apply the same to his well-being and advancement. The Hermetic Student is enabled to apply intelligently the great Mental Laws, instead of using them in a haphazard manner. With the Master-Key in his possession, the student may unlock the many doors of the mental and psychic temple of knowledge, and enter the same freely and intelligently. This Principle explains the true nature of "Energy," "Power," and "Matter," and why and how all these are subordinate to the Mastery of Mind. One of the old Hermetic Masters wrote, long ages ago: "He who grasps the truth of the Mental Nature of the Universe is well advanced on The Path to Mastery." And these words are as true today as at the time they were first written. Without this Master-Key, Mastery is impossible, and the student knocks in vain at the many doors of The Temple.

Guiné 1966: Um amor e uma tabanca
Eu com 22 anos e a Heather com 18 acabados de fazer e sem falar uma palavra de português, enfrentámos durante cerca de 2 anos um clima implacável (quente e húmido), uma guerra estúpida e tremendamente sangrenta, doenças tropicais medonhas e uma disciplina militar intolerável, ministrada por oficiais e sargentos corruptos, incompetentes e desonestos (dos que, mais tarde vieram a fazer o 25 de Abril). Eu fui um simples alferes miliciano, um civil fardado contra a sua vontade e violentado nas suas convicções.Sobrevivemos inteiros e saímos reforçados no nosso relacionamento. Mas, infelizmente, perdemos a inocência. Ninguém pode atravessar o inferno sem se queimar.

Cromos- 128 guaches de E. Vicente Rodriguez.
Notas: Os 6 primeiros cromos da edição portuguesa são diferentes dos da espanhola, que ilustram tipos portugueses. Houve pelo menos três edições diferentes dos cromos e duas dos albuns das quais a última, em meados dos anos 60, estava marcada "5ª Edição" e tinha uma contracapa (publicidade "Milo") diferente das anteriores (publicidade a cromos).
Os meus álbuns são ambos primeiras edições e estão completos.
